"Getting Into Your Pants: Add 10+10 for Life!" is highly recommended for community library collections dedicated to health and weight loss and for anyone who, as the title says, wants to get into those pants.” - Midwest Book Review for Getting into Your Pants…Add 10+10 for Life! I highly recommend it." “Getting Into Your Pants is an entertaining read and a great review of the ten thousand reasons you need to follow a low-fat vegan diet.” “I lost 50 pounds.” Not only that, my heart fibrillation attacks stopped – the very first
month I started eating better 8 months ago. Why hadn’t I start eating
like this years ago?” “I lost 17 pounds in less than 2 months! I fit into a size 8 dress and used to be a size 16 pants. 10+10 is fun
and easy! No counting calories or looking through diets in magazines
ever again! I’ve never lost this much weight this quickly and so easily
– just filling up on good food. Before I felt old, tired, and out of
shape. Now I’m happier and feel better about myself!” – Sue
Michaud
“After reading your book, I lost 18 pounds in a month and a
half. 10+10 for Life has simplified my shopping, cooking, and
given me more time as well as a good feeling. My husband is on board,
and has even helped with the shopping. I showed him I can get in and out
of the store with almost a week’s worth of groceries in 20 minutes. It’s
much easier when you only shop in the produce section!” – Debbie Kay
“I lost 23 pounds!” Before 10+10, I felt fat, “blah,” unhappy with my body. Now I’m
perfectly happy with my weight, and I like eating like this. All
my life, I’ve had to work at weight – trying to lose weight and keeping
it off. Not anymore. – Carol McDonald
“I am already down 11 pounds!! :)) and it has only been two weeks since I started your book. My big-girl pants are a little loose... I *LOVE* that. I have to admit, the first week... I was a little skeptical I could stick to it, having to cook for the family and not be the food police, but I haven't had any trouble at all. Everyone is asking me if I am on a diet and I keep saying NO. I have just changed my eating habits and am getting out there and exercising more! So
anyway... just wanted to update you a little bit... and check in to keep
myself accountable.” “I know I can do this! Before 10+10, I felt fat, frustrated, and lazy. Now I have more energy and more mobility, and feel better about myself than I have in years.” – Helen Stogsdill “I went from a size 12 to a size 2 in three months and have maintained EASILY despite the weekly wiggles. You and your book and the complete Leslie have changed my life for the better, of course. And I am 74. Many thanks for the great newsletters, personal notes, telephone call on my birthday, chiropractic care. I could go on and on. I put
on a good 25 lbs after retiring, began going to TOPS in Sequim with a
friend, heard you speak and was immediately motivated to give your life
style a try. I had yo-yo’d for years, was anorexic and bulimic in
college, and obsessed with food and weight ever since. Your program is
so sensible, so healthy, and so easy....not a diet but a life style.
I am
no longer perpetually constipated (a lifelong problem). My medicine
cabinet no longer has a row of laxatives. My VitaMix is my major kitchen
appliance. My meals are mostly organic and raw and are delicious. My
refrigerator is full of fruit and veggies. I carry cut up veggies
wherever I go. Philosophically I am a vegetarian and no longer
worry about whether or not I should worry about my protein intake. I
have plenty of energy and enthusiasm and gratefulness for each and every
day. SADS did not affect me this winter....no need for antidepressants.” –
Margi Gerharz
"WOW. I loved Getting into Your Pants,
Leslie.” You can really write a book that is a page
turner. I read it cover to cover. I love your style. It makes me want to
do this! I may wiggle a bit (of this I am sure) and I really need to
make more time for exercise (and quit with the excuses) and I need to
get my husband Baron into this with me (easier said than done). But
having said that, I am off and running. I feel better already :-)." - Susan Newlin, Vice President for Institutional
Advancement of
“Your
book is wonderful!!! You did a great job and your
sincerity and enthusiasm come shining through. It sounds just like you,
and you are great!” - Jean Finman
“This program simplifies my life where there has always been a
lot of confusion. . . . 10 + 10 is very easy to follow. After trying out
about every “healthy” way of eating currently being broadcasted, your
plan is much simpler. It astounds me, how much I eat though. I'm
pleasantly surprised that the food does fill me up relatively quickly.
It's not the same kind of “full” feeling, but it does the job just the
same. I haven't felt bloated at all . . .
I
really appreciate your willingness to stay in touch. I'm sure you're
very busy. It does help to check in and know that someone who
understands what I am trying to do (without question or sabotage
involved) is available for help! My friends and family do not eat like
this. I do intend to pass the book on, when I can part with it, to a few
of my trusted friends who are also struggling. For now, I'll keep at it
and not sweat the small slip ups.” - Stephanie Fosdeck
“Thank you so much for your book. I love the title, the cover and
the easy clear way it is written! You make reading it fun and also very clear what to do. And
you certainly make clear what is healthy and why. The question
and answer statement type format is helpful. You know a lot and
pass it on in such an easy way to understand. Your advice is good.” “Before starting 10+10, I felt really discouraged and deflated, and bad
about myself. I have been on lots of diets, but this is the first eating
plan that makes perfect sense to me. I am now hopeful and encouraged.
This is the path I was meant to take. I’ve already lost 8.5 pounds, and
it’s only been a month. I have no doubt that this is the
right way of eating. And I like eating like this.” “I
have lost 41 pounds in 8 months. I have eaten more fruit and
vegetables in the last 8 months then I did in the last 8 years. The
first three months I had to convince myself every day that my new diet
was worth it. Now it is just the way I eat. I am not on a diet anymore,
I just changed my habits. Although it is hard to believe, if given the
choice between a cheeseburger, or a red bell pepper, I will take the
bell pepper every time. Rather then eating three meals a day, I now eat
about eight times a day. Just better things. It is not hard at all, and
I never feel deprived. In fact most of the people in my office have
joined in to certain extents. My closet in my office has turned
into a health food bar, and my only issue is every time my back is
turned someone is in there sneaking my almonds or bananas, etc.
We
actually bought a deep freeze for the office and take turns making fruit
smoothies every morning. I keep a large bowl of fruit and avocados on my
desk, and everyone knows they are welcome to come in and eat what they
want at anytime.
Thank
you so much for your concern and support. Any help is appreciated…my
biggest motivating factors are my eleven-year-old daughter and my
six-year-old son (who hit a home run this afternoon in tee ball), who
have to deal with a 52-year-old Daddy.” – Chuck
Schumacher
“As
you know, my journey the past 4 years has been in making decisions to change my eating habits has been long,
but, not without victory! There were many times I wondered why I
was not losing weight, even though I was making changes in my diet to
one of vegetables, fruits and whole grains and exercising 5-6 days a
week!
I
must admit, though, I was allowing too many "wiggle" moments.
Then, after several months of observation on what I was doing to
"sabotage" myself (besides some family members), I came to the
conclusion that all the so-called excuses I had been using over the
years to justify these "deserved" treats, were just that:
EXCUSES!! I have been studying nutrition for over 20 years,
educating myself, applying many techniques, yet, only half-heartedly.
It was time to soul-search as to the "whys" now: Why, I know the
information, what to do, how to do it, yet stopped in mid-stream and
reverted BACK to my old eating habits, why I felt like a failure.
When
I felt I was letting myself down, I started "beating myself up" every
time. This had to stop. It wasn't until I made my decision to be
totally committed to myself in my personal eating plan that things
turned around, and I mean FAST! Everything began to "click" with
me. I sat down with my husband
I
then made a list of all foods that did not have any of those
ingredients...no more "deplete me" foods in this home! For the
first few days it was a little time consuming to get set up and begin.
I did do a few recipes of cooked or steamed vegetable dishes that we
could rotate each week. But, mostly we stuck to fresh vegetables,
fruits and grains. Within 5 days, my husband told me he was feeling so
good and felt like he was losing weight too. At first I was afraid
to get on the scale, because I had been so disappointed so many times in
the past. But, I got on the scale the 6th day and to my surprise I
was down 4 pounds! We were enjoying each day and each day brought
a new adventure in eating! By the end of the 12 days, I had lost a total of 8
1/2 lbs… 2 inches off my waist and dropped 1 dress size. WOW!
It
all began with a decision. A decision that I did NOT want to be
apart of the SAD masses, declining in health as I age, and ending up in
a nursing home and not having the quality of life that I know I can
have. I decided to love myself and strive to be all I could be in
the healthiest state I could possibly achieve! Everything after
this decision was easy. I love the way I (we) are eating and we
don't "miss" anything. In fact, yesterday my husband told me that
he loves eating this way so much that he never, ever wants to return
back to our old way of eating. Isn't that a great statement!!
Making the decision to change completely was the hard part. Every
day is easy now and I am still getting results. But, this time it
is different. I don't see this change as a "diet", a short term
plan, but, as a lifestyle to be lived each day the rest of my life.
And, that's exciting to me! Motivation, conviction and
determination are high for the first time. I've come a "long
way Baby"! Thank you Dr. Leslie for all your love and
encouragement.
You
NEVER gave up on me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You are a true blessing to me and to many! I pray that you will
continue to do your passion and help more people become all they can be!
And, thank Katy, Kerry and all your staff who do so much to support you!
Your
loyal supporter and friend forever, "I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks and 25 pounds in 3 months.” “I stepped on the scale, and I just cried. I
had hit my all-time high. I was depressed and ashamed. I hated my weight and
my body. My clothes were too tight. I was tired most of the time, got sick a
lot, and am only 24-years-old. “The most frustrating part—I exercised hard every day, and I still couldn’t lose weight. I just didn’t get it. “Now my clothes are loose. I am full of energy and feel better than I have in years. “I don’t feel deprived at all. I eat just like you told me—until I am full and satisfied. “Before I thought that the only way I could lose weight was to starve myself or get sick. “But I found out for myself that losing weight is not about eating or not eating—it’s about what you eat. And the best part, because I love food—I can eat as much as I want. “Before I wanted compliments from people about how I looked. But now I feel so good about myself that I don’t care anymore what other people think or say. “For the first time in my life, I feel like
I’m in control of my body, and I feel wonderful." "I lost 65 pounds in a year, and a
total of 75 pounds, and have kept it off for 2-1/2 years.” – Barb Blum, Sequim, WA “I lost close to 60 pounds in a year and have kept it off for 2 ½ years.” “I had been overweight since the birth of my daughter—thirty-something years ago. “I was tired of being tired and just wanted to feel better. I knew I was getting older, and I wanted a better life for myself. “To my thrill and relief, my husband also lost weight—close to 40 pounds—and kept it off and completely got off his high blood pressure medication. “I have lots more energy, feel better, and the best part—I feel better about myself. Recently, I had a rather serious health problem, and I know it would have been catastrophic if I had been carrying around 60 extra pounds. “I never get bored eating this way, and there’s less fuss, less mess. “I’m full and satisfied. “I don’t feel deprived in the least.”
